Kanyakumari with Its Treasures

Suchindram – This place is home to Sthanumalayan temple which is famous for 9th century inscriptions, Hanuman statue measuring 6 meter and musical columns. Basically the temple is devoted to trinity of god: Shiva, Vishnu and Bramha.

Vattakotti Fort – An eighteenth century small fort sitauted 6 Kms away from Kanyakumari. The fort overlooks and provides panoramic view of sea.

Padmanabhapuram Palace – A palace entirely made of wood. It was built around seventeenth century for the Travancore Kings.

Udavagiri Fort – Fort was built by King Marthanda Varma in the memory of European general Captain De Lennoy. Udavagiri Fort is also a tomb site of captain and now converted into a bio-diversity park.

Mukkudal Reservoir – Mukkudal is a fresh water Reservoir and know for its scenic beauty. Western Ghats surrounds the dam and in middle of dam lies a small beautiful island.

Sanguthurai & Sothavilai Beaches– Both beaches share coastline of Indian Ocean. 2004 Tsunami deteriorated the condition of beaches. However, due to measures took by authorities, tourist have started visiting these coastline again.
